Text enclosed within frames of type ornaments; ornamental and ornithographical initials; marginal ornamentation; head- and tailpieces.
Historiated title-page frame composed of woodcut elements, including a representation of the city of Jerusalem; a portrait of David and Noah’s Ark on Mount Ararat; portraits of the apostles Taddeus and Bartholemew (their names engraved over their images [Թադէոս & Բարդուղիմէոս]). The artist's initials 'GR' [for Grigor Marzwanets’I] in the bottom lefthand corner. A full leaf illustration on p.8 of ‘The city of Jerusalem’ as described in Revelations 11:v.10. The artist's initials 'CVS' [for Christophe van Sichem] given.
Format numbered in Armenian. Text set in 12 pt. bolorgir.
The 1st edition of this work. Ghazikian describes another 1st edition printed in Jerusalem in 1727, in error.
The imprint details are taken from the colophon. A further date of 1807 AD and AE1256 is also refered to on the colophon, but its purpose is ambiguous. The dates given on the extended title-page refer to the composition of the work.
