Given to ECL by Ned Boldero in October 2016; passed down to him from the family of Arthur Dunn OE (1860-1902), founder of Ludgrove prep school, who won the FA Cup with the Old Etonians in 1882 and captained England in 1892.
Publisher's contemporary cream vellum; gilt-stamped decorative frame with Eton lilies in four corners, royal arms and title on front cover; gilt-stamped Eton arms and gilt fillet border on back cover; smooth spine with gilt-stamped title; gilt-tooled turn-ins with ivory moiré silk doublures.
Pencil note dated 15 September 1943: "The only copy, found, where it should be, in Eton's unearthed rubble. 15/IX/43".
