In Armenian.
An epic poem in twenty episodes on the legendary hero Hayk, based on the Armenian History of Movses Khorenats’i and modelled after Homer's Iliad.
Title page is engraved.
In addition to the engraved title there are: an engraved half title reading 'Հայկ Դիւցազն. Վէպ' [Hayk Diwts’azn : Vep = Hayk Diwts’azn : novel]; an engraved portrait of the author signed 'E. St. Eve sculpt'; and five steel-engraved plates.
Final errata leaf.

Part of bequest to Eton College Library by Manoug Parikian in 1988.
Circular black ink seal stamp with monogram in Arabic (unread) on p. 621.
19th century green rolled goatskin half binding; gold-tooled ornament in spine compartments formed by gilt and thick blind fillets; mottled paper boards; purple endpapers.
Parikian's copy has the engraved half title plate pasted to the back of the portrait plate, possibly to obscure an earlier owner's inscription in blue ink which has partly bled through; front free-endpaper excised, possibly for same reason.
Parikian's bibliographical notes in pencil on verso of errata leaf.
Epic poetry, Armenian.
Parikian, Manoug former owner.
