According to the colophon (pp. 35-36) the author Ter Yakob Grigorents', an Armenian priest, composed this verse on the request of Dr. Marshall of Oxford in the year of the Lord A. D. 1675 and in the Armenian era 1124, Friday January 8th. The original manuscript is in the Bodleian Library (Thurston, 17; another copy: Marshall, 106).
