[Copy 5] Inscribed by the author to Blanche I. Johnston on front wrapper: "fr[om] Wm Cory 1892. With notes by himself. The little book has been used at Eton about twenty years." Accompanied by typed letter from Lt Col. R. de B. Devereux (her son), to the librarian, Eton College, dated Farnbrough, 15 Nov. 1970 identifying his mother as the daughter of Cory's pupil W. H. Johnston and offering the book to the library, with a copy of Patrick Strong's reply dated the following day.
