Vniuersales Ioannis Mesue praestantissimi et celeberrimi medici Canones, / cum Iacobi Syluij annotationibus in eosdem, unà cum quàmplurimis ex Galeni libris de simplicium medicamentoru[m] facultatibus, ea perspicuitate & ordine in tabulas digesti, per Ioannem Dantzium Astensem medicum, ut & intelligi facilime, memoriæq́[ue] commendari, & retineri possint. Accesserunt his Mesue praecipui loci communes per tabulas in ordinem compendiumq́[ue] dispositi, ut sine negotio medicus ob oculos positos totam artem medicam percurrere possit, Georgio Pictorio Doctore Medico, cum ob felices in curandis morbis successus, tum ob absolutam eruditionem, summo.

16th century dark brown calf; blind tooled roll of heads in roundels (Oldham EBSB HMC(4) no. 801) and triple fillet frames; centrepiece of cornucopia with a tudor rose surmounted by a crown; traces of ties and chain; blind tooled double fillet on spine, with panels of hatching at head and tail; four raised bands; yellow stained edges; title written on fore-edge.
