Three suites of plates depicting the loggie, published 1772-1777, engraved by "Joann. Ottaviani" with the frontispiece engraved by "Joannes Volpato", all bearing the line: 'Cai. Savorelli pict.; et Pet. Camporesi Arch. delin.', in addition to the engraver's name.
The complete set of illustrations in the first suite include a 3-plate elevation of the loggia, 2 doorways and 14 bays of arabesques each of 2 plates. -- The view of the loggia bears the legend: Spaccato per il longo del secondo piano della loggia nel cortile del Palazzo Vaticano corrispondente nel cortile grande detto di S. Damaso ove si dimostra l'architettura ed ornati della medema dipinti de Giovanni da Udine con la direzzione di Rafaele Sanzio da Urbino.

Engravings by Giovanni Ottaviani and Giovanni Volpato, based on drawings by G. Savorelli, P. Camporesi and Ludovico Tesco (i.e. Iudovicus Jesso Jaurinensis) of the arabesques in the Vatican Loggie by Raphael Sanzio and Giovanni Maria da Urbino.
Previously owned by A.W. Dunn. Special offer sheet addressed to A.W. Dunn from Bernard Quaritch and dated 15 June 1887 bound into volume, describing a complete set. Pencil annotation by AWD signed 1889, notes the number of plates, and that 'I do not find any difference between the workmanship of this copy + the one here mentioned by Mr Quaritch'.
20th century light brown leather quarter binding; brown marbled paper covering boards; cream paper label with letterpress title on front board; cream endpapers.
Imperfect copy. Contains all the plates from part 1, and plates I, III, V, VI, VII, VIII, X, XI, XII, XIII from part 2.
Album constructed in 18th or early 19th century of blue sugar paper. Some contemporary tissue covers are also present. Further protective sheets of ?newsprint have been inserted. Leaves have been left empty for the missing plates in the second sequence to be added later, unless they have been subsequently removed. There is some evidence of plates having been removed from the final leaves.
