A translation of: Britannia. A variant of the editions with "A. Heb" (STC 4510), "Andrew Crooke" (STC 2nd ed., 4510.4.), "W. Aspley" (STC 4510.6), or "G. Latham" (STC 4510.8) in the imprint.
"Scotland" has a divisional title and separate pagination. Within this, "Ireland, and the smaller islands in the British Ocean" has a divisional title; register is continuous.

Numerous errors in pagination including: no. 207-208 duplicated, p. 287 no. 278, p. 291-292 no. 293-294, 298-300 no. incorrectly 290, 287 and 299 respectively and page no. 300-302 not used. In addition, p. 363, 369, 507 and 623 are incorrectly no. 375, 269, 519 and 649 respectively. In second sequence p. 123-132 are incorrectly no. 111-120.

Bequeathed in 1677 by Nicholas Cordell, fellow. Note on flyleaf in a contemporary hand recording price 36s. 'whereof 1s for the 2 mappes of England, inserted pag. 154 & 1. bought of Mr. Thomason. No mappe was cutte for Richmondshire (wch might be expected pa. 727.) because it is conteynd in the formr [sic] mappe.'
17th century English calf; border of two blind fillets; six raised bands over alum tawed sewing supports; tan leather spine label; chain holes.
