[Copy 1] Inscription of Mary Duff (?), 36 Leinster Square, London W.2. Two loosely inserted ALS on headed stationery of John Masefield, Burcote Book, Abingon, undated, to Janet Leeper, concerning successful attempt to obtain the grant of a pension to Edward Gordon Craig.
[Copy 2] Presentation copy specially bound on Craig's instructions, to Gerard Hopkins of the Oxford University Press, with loosely inserted note to "My dear GH" dated 7 July 1923 presenting the book with comments on the binding and desiring him to thank [Humphrey] Milford.

[Copy 2] 20th century boards using earlier decorated paper (late 18th century?) acquired by Craig in Modena; vellum spine, hand-lettered with title, author and dedication "To GH".
[Copy 2] Extra-illustrated with additional leaves bound in with the preliminaries, 6 bearing tipped-in woodcuts by Craig mostly dated 1907 or 1908 and some with dedications to "GH" dated 1922 or 1923, and the 7th with presentation inscription dated Rapallo, 7 July 1923.
