With the latter's marks of emphasis, inserted markers, and infrequent annotations. Loosely inserted chit bearing pencil note "For Mr Edward Carrick" [pseudonym of Edward Anthony Craig] on recto and torn-off part of a building plan on verso.

Volume II (v. 3 as bound) inscribed: "To my dearest boy Teddy, on June 7th 1915. ... Your old father Gordon Craig", with motto "Never copy the old but never forget the old - for there is always some good to be found in it", and note about the order in which the three volumes were given. Upper board inscribed: "1915 EC". With occasional annotations and marks of emphasis in pencil by Edward Gordon Craig or Teddy Craig.
