A satirical reply to William King's 'Elogium famae inserviens Jacci Etonensis, or, The praises of Jack of Eton, commonly called Jack the Giant' (1750), which was in itself a response to Burton's criticisms of King's pro-Jacobite speech at the opening of the Radcliffe Library in Oxford in 1749.

Parallel English and Latin texts, with the Latin text dressed as an index to Burton's Epistle to his nephew Edward Bentham (which was published in 1758).
