Undated inscription on half-title verso in Edward Gordon Craig's hand, noting that he came across the volume while looking for a copy of Walton's Angler and "was thoroughly astonished - I had forgotten that W[indow] & G[rove] ... photographed me as this sick & dying King Ed: IV" facing p. 256, and that the portrait of Henry Irving facing p. 384 is "one of the best photos ever taken of him". Further annotations on some of the plates.
