Late 17th or early 18th century French mid brown calf; gold tooled triple fillet frames, with lozenge-shaped arabesque cornerpieces; central cartouche stamp with armorial device of François de la Rochefoucauld; gold tooled zigzag roll on board edges; gold tooled decoration on spine; five raised bands.
