Unidentified engraved armorial bookplate on front pastedown: three bars wavy on a chief three roundels, with motto 'Vindica te tibi'.
Late seventeenth or early eighteenth century dark brown calf; blind tooled double fillet border, with inner panel of the same with blind tooled floral stamps at each corner; blind tooled swag and dot roll on board edges; blind tooled double fillet and swag and dot roll on spine; red morocco spine label with gold tooled letters and double fillet frame; five raised bands; red and brown sprinkled edges. Pastedowns loose, revealing older printed matter; see note below.
Four leaves of early sixteenth century printed material bound in, previously stuck beneath pastedowns. Text is Boethius's commentary on Aristotle's analytics, and includes printed diagrams in the margins, together with annotations in a sixteenth century hand. Leaves are B.ii, B.iii, [B.iv and B.vi] of the volume, numbered 192-196.
