[Copy 1] Author's presentation copy to Edward Gordon Craig dated Paris, 10 Feb. 1953, annotated by Craig in ink and pencil and with cover inscribed "autographed copy" and the photographic portrait annotated "1948 - by 1961 he had become younger". Loosely inserted invitation card to book launch event held at the Librairie Bonaparte on 4 Feb. [1953]. Publicity flier for the book tipped-in at end, also with ms. note by Craig about the portrait.

Additional loosely inserted press cutting from "Le Courrier de l'ouest", 24 Feb. 1953 and publicity flier for the book.

[Copy 3] Edward Gordon Craig's copy dated "Paris 1953", with extensive annotations, corrections, extra-illustrations and insertions, possibly prepared in expectation of a corrected edition. -- Tipped-in materials include: publicity flier for the first three titles in the series; invitation card to book launch event with pasted-in press cutting; photograph of a drawing to replace the plate facing p. 48; postcard to EGC from Evald Junge. -- The insertions include correspondence with the author Catherine Valogne dated Feb.-May 1953 and a transcription in English of a letter from her dated 9 Aug. 1954; seven press cuttings in French, English and Italian and two transcripts in French, possibly in Valogne's hand; publisher's "Catalogue des titres disponibles au 15 janvier 1955
