Late sixteenth- or early seventeenth-century mid brown calf; possibly by Vincent Williamson at Eton; intersecting frame of two bands of a blind tooled crested roll, with centre panel divided by diagonal bands of the same roll; blind tooled single fillet on board edges; holes for ties, with traces of tawed leather ties inside boards; blind tooled double fillet on spine; four double corded raised bands; yellow stained edges.
