Ante quem date inferred from dated ownership inscriptions; Stephen Austen, the printer of the second-bound item, was active approximately 1726-1750.
Five fragments of which at least the first and third are from the same work, in English and Latin.
[1] and [3]: Pages 3-40 and 41-84 (in round brackets), sig. B⁴ (-B1?) C-L⁴ M⁴ (-M3,4), of a text in English and Latin beginning "The Latin letters are thus written." and p. 41 with caption title "Of a verb"; preceded by unsigned, unpaginated leaf in Latin with caption title "Mi puer, grammatica, sive, .." under woodcut head-piece and with woodcut initial to next word "Verborum".
[2]: Pages [ii], [1]-34 (in square brackets), sig. pi1, A-D⁴ of a text with (divisional?) title page having 11-line note in English on the verso: The short and familiar vocabulary, adapted to Lilly's method of finding the gender of a substantive by its genitive case.
