Publication, distribution, etc.
Aurelianæ, : Apud heredes Petri de la Rouiere., MDCXXVI [1626]
Physical description
3 v. ; 35 cm. (fol.)
Note
The title is taken from the title-page of v. 1. Title-pages of v. 2 and v. 3 read "Iac. Augusti Thuani Historiarum sui temporis". The wording of the imprints vary for v. 2 and v. 3. In some copies "Genevae" has been crudely stamped-in above the imprint, sometimes with the original locative "Aurelianae" over-stamped with a line of brackets.
Note
This edition consists of three volumes. A fourth (the "Continuatio") and fifth were published with the edition of 1620, and second editions of these volumes appeared in 1630, along with a "Commentarium de vita sua libri sex", usually bound at the end of volume 5. Thus complete copies of the work, of five volumes, are inevitably made up of volumes from at least two editions.
Note
The title-page to v. 1 is printed in red and black. All the title-pages bear the woodcut device of the publisher.
Note
Pagination: v. 1: [30], 810, [48] pages -- v. 2: 992, [14] pages -- v. 3: 717, [27] pages.
Note
Woodcut head- and tail-pieces, and initials.
Note
There is an index in each volume.

Armorial bookplate of Edward Waddington inside front cover, recording donation to Eton College in 1731. Armorial bookplate of Eton College.
