With added illustrated engraved title page, depicting Atlas bearing the heavens upon his shoulders (with other figures and symbols, including putti holding up maps, Chronos, Neptune, and map-makers' tools); signed: "G. Hoet delin. J. Mulder fecit". Added title reads: "Introductio ad geographiam".

Illustrated with [66] engraved maps (on double leaves, some folded), and engravings of geographical instruments (including a compass rose). The maps are signed (variants of) "Autore N. Sansom" and "A. de Winter sc:", and are drawn to various different scales; some have inset pictures, while other have ornate cartouches enclosing the map title.
