Impensis Tho. Robinsin. 1657" on leaf a4r; it is unpaginated. "Johannis VVallisi, S.S. Th.D. Geometriæ Professoris Saviliani in celeberrimâ Academia Oxoniensi; Mathesis universalis: sive, Arithmeticum opus integrum, tum philologice, tum mathematice traditum; arithmeticam tum numerosam, tum speciosam sive symbolicam complectens, sive calculum geometricum; tum etiam rationum proportionumve traditionem; logarithmorum etiam doctrinam; aliaque quae capitum syllabus indicabit" and "Johannis Wallisi S.S. Th.D. Geometriæ Professoris Saviliani, in celeberrima Academia Oxoniensi; Adversus Marci Meibomii, de proportionibus dialogum, tractatus elenctius" each have separate dated title page, the first with ornament and imprint as per collective t.p., the second with arms of the University of Oxford with inscription "Academia: Oxoniensis:" and mottos "Sapi et fe", "Christus lucrum", "Ars breuis", "Stin. cimb:" and "Veritas in profundo:" and imprint "Oxonii, typis Leonard. Lichfield Academiae typographi. Impensis Tho. Robinson. 1657", on leaves d2r and 3D3r respectively and pagination; register is continuous. "De proportionibus, dialogi; a Marco Meibomio conscripti; refutatio" (caption title; 62, [2] p. at end) has separate pagination and register.
The last leaf bears text with caption title: M. Mersenni locus notatur.
Includes a chapter on logarithms and a passage about chess in Persian and Latin (2L3r-2M3v).
