[London] : [s.n.], Printed in the year 1697..
[14], 224, 245-260, 8 p. ; 18 cm. (8vo)
In verse.
The words "Duke of Buckingham ... Marvell, Esq;" and "Mr. Milton ... Mr. Ayloffe, &c." are bracketed together on the title page.
Signatures: A⁸(-A1) B-Q⁸, ²A⁴.
Running title: Poems on state affairs.
The title page is set within a double-rule border.
The 8 pages of addenda at the end of the volume are often absent (having perhaps been removed, in some cases at least, by objectors to the poems by Lord Rochester included therein).
Despite the hierarchy of the title page, the text is richest in verse attributed to Waller and Marvell.
Other editions of the work printed in 1697 differ in having the "t" of "time" in line 5 of the title in upper case, in the number of poems listed in the contents for the Addenda on A8r, and the extent of the Addenda.
