Atlas maritimus, or The sea--atlas being a book of maritime charts. Describing the sea-coasts, capes, headlands, sands, shoals, rocks and dangers. The bays, roads, harbors, rivers and ports, in most of the known parts of the world. Collected from the latest and best discoveries that have been made: by divers able and experienced navigators of our English nation. Manuscript note loose between maps 12 and 13 "Mr Mann is ... to make a ... of the ... chronological writers for his friend who has only the following ..." then lists titles and dates of some publications; presumably Nicholas Mann (d. 1753).
Late 17th century sprinkled sheep skin binding and blind tooled double fillet borders.
ECL copy's title has pasted in imprint with date M.DC.LXX.VIII. [1678].
ECL copy has [60] leaves of plates and lacks final advertisement leaf.
Map of The Channel and Bay of Biscay loose at beginning of volume printed in English and lacking imprint.
Tipped in on guards: "A view of the taxes, funds, and publick revenues of England. Total moneys voted by Parliament during the Court of this War. Anno 1702 - 1706, " London, Printed for Tim Childe at the White Hart at the West End of St. Pauls, 1712 and "To be given gratis to the buyers of the half sheet entituled, a view of the taxes, funds, and publick revenues of England" are inserted between maps 2 and 3 in binding; postage stamp on recto of first leaf.
