Title devised by cataloguer. Caption title given at the head of the contents list is: Variæ lectiones in stat. vet. Volume referred to in a memorandum on the front endpaper as a 'Collection of statutes'.
Place and date of production inferred from style of handwriting and provenance information.
The 33 leaves of the volume bearing text have been foliated in a contemporary hand.
Written in black ink italic hand. Ruled in pencil.
The scribe may be J. Smith of King's College Cambridge, as the hand is close to the ownership inscription on the front endpaper. A further inscription on the front endpaper notes that numbers 70, 78 and 85 in the collection have been misplaced, and that they were copied from the 'Proctor's books'.
The first leaf bears a list of contents, written in the same hand as the donation inscription by Edward Betham.

Contemporary mid brown reverse calf; blind tooled frames of double fillet and swag roll, with large decorative stamps at each corner; blind tooled decorative roll on board edges; five raised bands; red sprinkled edges.
