The scribe may be Thomas Sibthorpe, Allen's junior clerk at Middle Temple, who was bequeathed £120 in Allen's will to transcribe two copies of the catalogue, one for his patron Arthur Onslow and one for King's. It is not clear if this is one of these copies, or an earlier copy.
These four volumes are part of a five volume set, including a catalogue of the provost and fellows of Eton College (Eton MS 373).
