The scribe may be Thomas Sibthorpe, Allen's junior clerk at Middle Temple, who was bequeathed £120 in Allen's will to transcribe two copies of the catalogue, one for his patron Arthur Onslow and one for King's. It is not clear if this is one of these copies, or an earlier copy.

These four volumes are part of a five volume set, including a catalogue of the provost and fellows of Eton College (Eton MS 373).

Binding

Contemporary dark brown sprinkled calf; gold tooled double fillet border; blind tooled floral roll on board edges; six raised bands; red sprinkled edges. Joint repairs to the first and third volumes.
