Provenance
Engraved armorial bookplate of Eton College on title-page verso, and Eton College arms stamped on front and back boards. According to card catalogue, purchased by the college for 5s in 1596/7.
Binding
Late 16th century English mid brown calf; blind tooled frames of quadruple fillet and two decorative rolls, the outer being Oldham EBSB Hm.h.14 (839) and the inner Oldham EBSB IN.9 (942); silver gilt stamped armorial device of Eton College on both boards; remains of clasps; blind tooled double fillet on spine with two panels of hatching at head and tail; red morocco spine label with gold tooled triple fillet frame and title; six raised bands; red stained edges. Possibly bound in Cambridge by Thomas Thomas.
