Mise-en-page: double columns (47 lines) written in a set script. Rubrics. Hairline strokes to highlight the presence of "i" or the continuation of a word onto the following line. Visible guide letters underneath red and blue capitals. Psalm numbers in Arabic numerals noted in plummet on the upper margin of leaves like running headers.
Decoration: red and blue initials (4-10 lines) with pen flourishes along the border; red and blue border frame on ff.1r, 37v, 38v, 74r, 101v; red and blue capitals. Catchwords enclosed by lines or sketches of a parchment roll.
Handwriting: northern littera textualis formata; one scribal hand.
Punctuation: puncti, puncti elevati and interrogativi.
Correction: almost none in the margins. Dotted lines to indicate errors within the text.
Marginalia, later additions: brief reference notes in a secretary hand. One "nota" sign with bracket running on 23 lines (f. 6r). Note on f.i recto partially erased: "Prima pars Augustini super psalterium et incipit in 2o fo. Q[u]am monte[m]" (similar notes in the same hand can be found in ECL MSS 22, 97, 101). An early modern hand added a "title" for this volume on f. 1r.

Provenance: Williamson's binding suggests that the book was at Eton by the early 17th century. Former Eton shelfmarks: Bk.1.6, Bl.2.6.
17th-century brown calfskin over wood boards by Williamson of Eton in 1600-1601. Covers decorated with "frame of three bands of the Herculis-Vena [i.e. Venus] roll. The panel is divided into three compartments by horizontal bands of the same roll. In the middle compartment, Williamson stamps II, III. At the outer corner of the frame, Williamson stamp III. The roll has been applied along the inside of the bevel. Clasps on upper cover. Chain mark low on outside edge of upper cover." (from Robert Birley's personal notes, II, n. 198) Spine with eight raised bands, decorated with blind fillets and gilt titling ("D. Augustin in psalmos 1-50."); modern shelf label. Textblock sprinkled red. Endpapers of membrane including pastedowns.
