Quire and leaf signatures and catchwords: quire signatures in Roman numerals on the verso of last leaf (Iᵘˢ-XXIIIᵘˢ), most of which have been trimmed out; the last quire does not show the signature. No catchwords.
Note
Page preparation: ruled in ink; pricking visible on both margins.
Note
Mise-en-page: double columns (45 lines) written in a set script. Rubrics. Medieval numbering of psalms in top right corner of rectos. Marginal guide letters for small and large initials, often trimmed out. Marginal decorative signs to indicate quotes from the psalms. Hair-line strokes at the end of a line to indicate word continuing on following line.
Note
Decoration: blue, red, or green arabesque initials (3-12 lines) with shafts decorated with spirals. Green, blue, or capitals. The initial on f.1r has been cut out and replaced with plain membrane. Since the lower end of the folio has also been cut, there may have been a bas-de-page.
Note
Handwriting: littera pregothica written on first ruled line and sitting just above base line; in one hand.
Note
Abbreviation and punctuation: diphthong æ abbreviated as "e" with cedilla. Punctuation includes puncti, puncti elevati and interrogativi.
Note
Marginalia, later additions: contemporary notes in a set hand which adds loops to ascenders (e.g. ff.17v, 42v). A scribe using plummet has copied brief sections of the text in the margin (e.g. ff.81v, 104r). An early modern hand added a "title" for this volume on f.1r ("Aug. In Quinquagesima 2[secund]am"), signed "T.F.". A different early modern hand added notes about contents and the 1529 edition of the text on f.ii verso.
Note
Accompanying material: the manuscript waste in this volume belongs to a manuscript written in England in the second half of the 14th century. Its leaves were used by Eton's binder, Williamson, in the early 17th century in this and other volumes, prompting N.R. Ker to hypothesise that they may represent the remnants of the listed item "concordaunce of ii partes" in Eton's 1465 inventory (transcribed by James, 1921, p. 443).
Formatted contents note
Contents: Pastedowns: leaves from a late 13th-century missal containing part of the advent office; ff. i, iv: leaves from letter C of the "Concordantiae maiores" (Captiuus-Carcer); ff. 1-191: St Augustine, In Psalmos 51-100.

Provenance
Origin: England.
Provenance
Provenance: the binding and manuscript waste suggest that the volume was at Eton College by the early 17th century. Eton College bookplate on f. ii recto. Former ECL shelfmarks: Bk.1.7; Bl.1.4.
Binding
Early 17th-century calfskin over pasteboards, likely by Eton's binder Williamson given the presence of the manuscript waste found in other bindings of his. Covers decorated with triple fillets to form a border; repaired damage from a missing clasp in the lower right corner of the front board. Spine rebacked with six raised bands decorated with blind fillets and gilt tiling over red label ("D. Augustin In Psalmos 51 = 100."). Textblock sprinkled red and green. Endpapers of manuscript waste and laid undecorated paper.
