The first part of the Septuplum, a tract on the seven deadly sins, surrounded by the author's commentary; a copy at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, 282 (both parts), written in 1355, gives the date of composition as 1346.

The author is variously known as John de Athon, Ayton, or Acton and was Professor of Law at Cambridge University and Canon of Lincoln. See J. H.
