The Gospels in Serbian Church Slavonic; the beginning and end are lost, and the MS begins with Matthew 6:5; the first leaf of Luke is missing.
The Synaxarion and following materials (13 leaves) are in Bulgarian Church Slavonic; paper, signature and hand are continuous.
The Gospels are each preceded by a preface and list of contents showing parallel passages.
Beginnings of pericopes may be indicated in the text or in the margin.
Unfoliated except for ff. 9 and 17. Leaf 126v is blank.
Watermarks: [1] scales, type Piccard Waage V, 47-58 (1490-1508); [2] scales, type Piccard Waage VII, 301-8 (1510-1514); [3] scales, cf. Br. 2484 (1508-1510); [4] a hat, similar to Tromonin 249 (1468-1481), compare Lichačev 627 (1497).
Written space: 200 x 135 mm.
19 ruled lines on each page.
Collation: 1-15⁸ 16⁸ (-7) 17¹⁰ 18-36⁸ 37 one (?).
Gatherings signed in mid-lower margin, first recto and last verso.
Running titles may be present on both rectos and versos, but not on every page.
Written in black ink in a firm clear uncial hand with frequent diacritics used without any immediately apparent system; titles in semi-vjaz' on ff. 70, 72v, 74, 123, 125v, 214, 215, 278, 285, 289, 290.

Rebound at Eton around 1715.
According to M. R. James, Lambeth Palace MS 108 containing the Acts and Epistles is very similar in appearance. See ECL interleaved, annotated copy of his Descriptive catalogue (MS 932).
Traces of an inscription, probably in Italian, on f. 190v, too much mutilated to be read.
Presumably given to Eton by Sir Henry Wotton (see provenance note below).
