The Provinciale (a commentary upon the ecclesiastical decrees enacted in English provincial councils under the presidency of the Archbishops of Canterbury), with commentary (ff. 31-331); preceded by an index (ff. 1-127) and tables of chapters and tituli (ff. 27v-29v); followed by constitutions of Henry Chichele and John Stratford (ff. 331v-332v) and articles of enquiry (ff. 333-334).
Ten leaves of the Provinciale are missing after f. 100; the scribe wrote "Assit principio sancta maria meo" at the head of f.. 31.
The constitions on ff. 331-332v were printed from this copy in the 1679 edition of Lyndwood, pp. 73-75; they include a form of excommunication in English.
The articles of enquiry comprise 28 heads, mainly on heresy; and 33 heads at a visitation, on residence and other matters, some coinciding with those in the first section. The last five words are in red.
Folios 30rv and 334v are blank.
Late 15th-century addition on f. vi (recto and verso): extracts from Duns Scotus on distinctio 2 and 35 of book 2 of the Sentences of Peter Lombard, on mortal and venial sin and on whether sin "actuale et mortale sit per se corrupcio boni".
Late 15th-century addition on f. v verso: five lines identified by M. R. James as being from an English version of Mapes, Apocalypsis Golie, in the same hand as the names on the same leaf; see provenance notes below.
Folios v, vi and 335 are medieval parchment endleaves, the first and last formerly pasted down; late 20th-century repairs brought to light part of a leaf in a current English hand of the late 14th/early 15th century with running title "De temporibus [anni]".
The medieval foliation of the main text, 1-311, takes account of the quire missing after f. 100.

Script: the Provinciale in textura and the commentary on oit in anglicana modified by secretary.
Initials in red and blue with red and violet ornament on ff. 31 and 115v, the former with a little green; elsewhere blue with red ornament or red with violet ornament.
Secundo folio: sue. Anime.
Rebound at Eton in the early 17th century.
