Purchased in May 1976 for £275 by Stephen John Keynes (1927-2017) from Maggs Brothers, London (Oriental Miniatures & Illuminations. Bulletin No. 25 (1976), item 148. Loose leaf with the description of the item inserted and no. 148/OB25 written in pencil on the upper pastedown.

Foliated in pencil by a mid- or late 20th-century British (?) hand.

Binding

20th- century vellum-backed marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt, two flyleaves at front and back of book.

Copy-specific note

Imperfect: fragment of 42 leaves plus an additional final facsimile supplied before 1976, containing the entirety of the second section of the first part (about a third of the book), a series of chapters on the inhabitans of the Holy Land, their religions and beliefs and their languages.
