A large corpus of 74 Augustinian and Anselmian pieces (all but six of 49 pieces in ff. 1-211v), followed by texts attributed to Boethius (four pieces, ff. 212-218v), Hugh of St Victor (ff. 218v-234v), Chrysostom (ff. 237-9), John Damascene (three pieces, ff. 239-248, 314-333), Dionysius (six pieces, ff. 248-277v), and Bernard (five pieces, ff. 278-82, 286v-303), the rest unattributed.

Mostly ill-written and with many scribal errors as noted by a reader of the second half of the 15th century on f. 233v.
Preceded by a nearly contemporary table of contents on f. iii; the last item "Sentencie damascnei per quatuor libros distinctos" is followed by an erased line.
Folios ii, iii are medieval flyleaves.

Two columns of 67 or 68 lines and (ff. 123-158v, all works of Anselm) 55-60 lines.
Collation: 1-5¹² 6⁸ (ff. 61-68) 7-9¹² 10-11⁸ 12⁴ wants 3,4, blank after f. 122 13-18¹² 19¹² wants 9 after f. 202 20⁶ (ff. 206-211) 21-25¹² 26⁶ (ff. 272-7) 27¹² 28⁸ 29¹² 30⁴ (ff. 310-13) 31¹² 32⁸.
Script: quires 13-15 (ff. 123-158v) in anglicana, the rest in a small and difficult textura by probably two hands; in the main hand, the letters f, r and s descend a little below the line.
Initials in red and blue with ornament of both colours, or two-line blue initials with red ornament.
Secundo folio: aut consuetudine.
Rebound at Eton in the 17th century.

Seven-line inscription beginning "Liber fratris Iohannis de Burgo" dated "anno gracie m ccc octauo decimo" on f. iii, identified by M. R. James (who used a reagent) with J. de Burgo, prior of Launde, Leicestershire, O.S.A., in 1306. See Dugdale, Monasticon, 1846 ed., VI, 188.
Inscription on f. ii verso (over erasure) recording gift to Eton: "donum M. Iohannis Bonour quondam socii huius regalis collegii" i.e. John Bonour (read by M. R. James as Borowe). See Emden, BRUO, p. 219.
