Five works by St Ambrose: [1] De Isaac et anima (ff. 1-18); [2] De fuga seculi (ff. 18v-32); [3] De Iacob et vita beata (ff. 32v-54); [4] De paradiso (ff. 54v-75v); [5] Apologia in regem David (ff. 75v-90).
Preliminary leaf iii is a parchment binding leaf; f. 90v was left blank.
Written space: 225 x 117 mm; quire 10: 225 x 132 mm.
33 long lines; quire 10: 37 long lines.
Ruling with a hard point.
Well written in a rather round hand, with running titles in the main hand.
The first line and the explicit of each text and the running titles are in capitals.
Initials, 6-line or less in green and red with ornament of both colours (items 1 and 5), in green or red with ornament of the other colour (items 2 and 3), or in red (item 4).
Secundo folio: nantem.
Rebound at Eton around 1720 and mended in April 1894.

Inscriptions on f. iii verso: "Liber Guilelmi Hormani", "Contenta ..." and "Donum Guilielmi Hormani quondam socii huius contubernii".
