Fragments of a mid-12th century copy of St Ambrose, De bono mortis; two leaves bound as MS 209, and two leaves bound as part of a volume of Fragmenta, MS 220, no II (q.v.).
The two leaves bound as MS 209 contain the text from "a sanctis suis" to "Melius que mouent"; the two leaves in MS 220 contain the text from "reamur illum debitum" to "infideles sunt", bound in the wrong order.

The written space is complete on one leaf, 195 x 103 mm.

"A" and "R" in the margins are contemporary "nota bene" signs.
The two leaves bound as MS 209 were formerly pastedowns in a volume containing Carlo Sigorio, De dialogo, printed by G. Ziletti in Venice, 1562 and two other works printed in Venice and Florence in the 1560s, bound in Oxford, perhaps by Christopher Cavey, ca. 1570 (qq.v., Eton College Library Gg.4.14).
The two leaves bound in MS 220 were formerly pastedowns in a copy of Cicero, Tusculanorum quaestionum libri V, printed by J. de Roigny in Paris, 1549, bound in Oxford, perhaps by Christopher Cavey, ca. 1570 (q.v., Eton College Library Ff.5.12).
