Note

[3] One wind-rose lettered "Demonstra michi vias tuas", and three figures of kings of Russia and Egypt, and emperor of the Turks: "Recs Russie", "Imperator Turcorum", "Recs Egiptii".

Note

Each chart measures ca. 49 x ca. 36 cm.

Note

Original leather binding.

Note

Made in Naples; first chart is signed bottom left: "Vincentius Demetrius Voltius Ragusa[nus] fecit in ciuitate Neapoli die 16 septembrii 1593".

Note

Inscribed at the bottom of the first chart in a 17th/18th century hand: "Del Co[nte] Alessandro del Testa".

Note

Curatorial note in hand of Patrick Strong (College Archivist) in the interleaved, annotated copy of M. R. James's Descriptive catalogue at ECL (MS 932) cites an undated letter from James to FWW-C (Francis Warre-Cornish) inserted at end of copy C of James's Descriptive catalogue as evidence, suggesting this was given with other MSS given by Major W. J. Myers in 1896.

Note

This catalogue record is based on the work of M.R. James, as cited in the references below.
