Late 16th century mid brown calf; blind tooled triple fillet border with gold stamped armorial centrepiece of Eton College; remains of tacks for chain and clasps, left to right; six raised bands with alum-tawed skin supports and blind tooled fillets; 'Thesaurus Ciceronis' written on fore-edge; yellow edges.
Signs of use possibly by two different owners: an early owner annotated a few pages (p. 599, 653, 781, 803, 1155, 1321, 1327) probably before the book was bound (some notes have been slightly trimmed on the top edge); later, another owner folded some corners of the pages.
