A British former owner (C19th?) framed the title page, possibly hiding a previous or contemporary inscription, and added a few notes on the margins.

Possibly the same hand (18th-19th century?) numbered the plates and translated the Latin inscriptions in English; a few notes have been trimmed when the book was rebound.
19th-century grained leather binding; gilt tooled frame with gilt triple fillet and roll of palmettes and anthemions; five raised bands with gilt decorations and gold title 'Theatrum biblicum' on spine; gilt decorations on edges of boards and turn-ins; ochre pastedowns and first flyleaves; two blank flyleaves added on front and back of the book; gilt edges.
