Undated, typed copy of the manuscript of J. M. Barrie's original play "Peter Pan".
Text dated 23 November 1903 at the beginning and 1 March 1904 at the end.
Typescript includes text of dedication inscription from J. M. Barrie to Maude Adams, who played Peter Pan in the first Broadway production of the play in 1905.
Annotation in pencil at head of date on first leaf of text, in two hands: the first suggesting the date 1904 ("see last page"), the second correcting it: "No! I guess he started this in 1903 - the eve of my birthday!"; possibly the hand of Nicholas Llewelyn Davies, born 24 November 1903.
Loose leaves in brown paper wrapper; previously housed in two-hole ring binder.
Front wrapper inscribed "with the compliments of Charles Scribner's Sons", possibly in the hand of John Carter.
Place of production conjectured from the cover inscription and format of the paper.

Accompanied by TLS from David Paramor, publicity officer of Hammersmith Drama, to unnamed recipient with an "interest in the lesser-known musical works of Gilbert, Sullivan, Burnand, etc.", announcing performances in 1975.
Accompanied by photograph of Nicholas Llewelyn Davies in "bumfreezer" and top hat, inscribed "To M.H. with love from Nicholas. April 2nd 1917".
Accompanied by alphabetical list of plays and musicals in blue and red biro on blue notepaper; possibly the same hand as the second pencil inscription on the typescript, i.e. Nicholas Llewelyn Davies.
