Sammelband. Mid-to-late 17th century speckled mid-brown calf over pasteboard, sewn on three recessed alum-tawed supports; bound in England; rebacked by R. I. Day late 20th century. On both covers, an outer border of blind double fillets, intersecting at corners; medium squares, the board edges tooled with a single gilt fillet. Spine (rebacked) smooth and slightly rounded, tooled with transverse double fillets to match original spine (cf. Gc.7.21); spine label in second panel (gilt lettering over brown morocco onlay: "Petitions etc. 1641-2 Vol. III"); original endbands retained, of ?plain thread, sprinkled over. Textblock trimmed and sprinked red. Endpapers (20th century) comprising a bifolium of plain laid paper; upper flyleaf with four tipped-in leaves of 20th century paper on which is a list of contents.
Bound in a volume of Civil War pamphlets with list of volume contents on 19th/20th century Eton stationery tipped in at front.
