19th-century half-leather binding with marbled paper over pasteboard; blind roll at edges of leather on both covers. Spine rounded, with gilt titling ("The Wife.") and a transverse roll at head and tail. Textblock trimmed, rounded, and sprinkled red.
Rebound to be interleaved with blank sheets (of wove paper) between each printed page.
Ms. inscription (probably in Barry Sullivan's hand): "Barry Sullivan, London, Dublin, Edinburgh, New York, [unread], Melbourney, [?]Sidney[sic]." Annotations, underlinings, corrections (including set and stage directions) throughout the text, consistent with use as a performance copy.
