19th-century three-quarter blue calfskin and marbled paper over millboards, sewn on four recessed supports. No other decoration on the covers. Spine with four false shallow bands bands; gilt fillets and a roll over bands; gilt titling over red leather label ("Gil Blas"). Texblock slightly rounded and lightly sprinked red. At each side of textblock, marbled paper pastedown and flyleaf; two free flyleaves of undecorated wove paper.
Ms. signature on title page: "S Hawkins".
