Manuscript signature in an 18th or 19th century hand on title-page recto, unread.
Late 18th or early 19th century mid-brown tree calfover ?millboard, sewn on four recessed supports. Both covers undecorated; medium squares, the board edges tooled with a gilt roll. Spine smooth and rounded, divided into six panels by a transverse gilt chain-pattern roll; second panel with spine label (gilt titling over red morocco onlay: "Sterne letters"); endbands of alternating red and plain thead. Textblock trimmed. Endpapers comprising a bifolium of plain laid paper (pastedown and flyleaf).
