19th-century green morocco over pasteboards by Fazakerley of Liverpool. Covers decorated with gilt roll on board-edges and turn-ins. Spine with four raised bands, decorated with gilt titling ("Ordo"; "Venetiis MDLX[XX]"). Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated paper; three flyleaves on the upper end of the textblock, four on the lower end. Burrell cut the rear marbled leaf and added a bifolium of modern paper for his notes. Includes a cardboard box covered in green leather; spine include gilt titling over red label ("Ordo - Venetiis. MDLXXX.").
Ms. list of places (mostly places of worship) visited by Burrell, in his own hand, across the front and rear flyleaves.
Between boards and textblock: souvenir cards with prayers depicting the Virgin Mary, St Mark, Pope Pius X as well as entry tickets for places he visited and ms. notes on cards.
