Binding
18th-century speckled calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with double blind fillets to form a border and a panel as centrepiece with blind tools at the corners (the middle of the panel has not been speckled); gilt roll on board edges (now faded). Spine with five raised bands, decorated with gilt fillets, rolls, tools, and titling ("Martins western islands of Scotland"). Textblock trimmed and sprinkled red. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; two flyleaves at the upper end of the textblock and one at the lower end.
