Armorial bookplate of Eton College with initials "HR" for Henricus Rex on front pastedown.

Binding

18th-century calfskin on pasteboards. Covers decorated with gilt fillet to form a border, tools at the corners; single gilt fillets on board edges and turn-ins. Spine with five raised bands, decorated with gilt tools, fillets and titling ("History of the Bastile"); modern shelf label ("Geᵃ. 4.9"). Textblock trimmed and gilted. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated laid paper; three flyleaves at both ends of the textblock.
