19th-century armorial bookplate of Eton School Library with ex dono of "Mrs Oliphant" on front pastedowns.
?18th-century polished and speckled calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with blind fillets to make two concentric rectangular panels (the inner one is polished, the other two speckled) with blind tools at the corners. Spine with five raised bands, decorated with blind fillets, gilt tools and titling over red pigskin label ("Nisbet's Heraldry"; "I"/"II"; "1722"/"1742"). Textblock trimmed and dyed red (now mostly faded). Endpapers of undecorated paper; two flyleaves at both ends of the textblock (v. 2 has three on upper end of the textblock).
