?18th-century calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with blind roll to form a border. Spine with five raised bands, decorated with gilt rolls, fillets and titling over red label ("Dallaway's heraldry"). Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated paper; three flyleaves at both ends of the textblock.
Loose ms. notes (folded) about "heraldic marshalling disputed points", including ms. family trees and coats of arms. The same hand occasionally annotates the text / family trees in the volume.
