[Essay to heraldry]
The art of heraldry, in two parts. The first concisely comprehending all necessary rules in the said art, with many useful examples of bearing, to facilitate the way of blazening any coat of armor. The second part giving a full account of the priviledges [sic], dignities &c. of the nobility and gentry of England. A reissue, with cancel title page, of "An essay to heraldry", 1684, which has "printed by T.B" in imprint.
The words "Gwillim's" and "Heraldry" in title are on different lines. A variant has title partly in a different setting, with "Guillim's Heraldry", which is on one line.

18th-century speckled calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with double blind fillets to form a border; gilt roll on board edges (now almost completely faded). Spine with four raised bands, decorated with blind fillets and gilt titling over red label ("Blome's heraldry"). Textblock trimmed and sprinkled red. Endpapers of undecorated paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.
