Armorial binding; calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with gilt-stamped centrepiece: an unidentified coat of arms with a crown and two lions. Spine rebacked with five raised bands, decorated with gilt fillets and titling over red label ("Il pastor fido"; "1590"). Textblock trimmed and sprinkled red. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.
