16th-century vellum over pasteboards. Covers decorated with blind fillets and elaborate rolls to form borders and panels; front cover: four club motif tools in the inner panel, alongside a centrepiece shows man with feathered hat holding a scale, and ink titling "vocabv : ivris"; back cover: floral rolls only. Spine with three raised bands, decorated with blind tools; ink title faded. Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.
